Synopsis

1980’s Guatemala City, A  Mother and Daughter are at the start of their migration journey to the US. The Daughter is gifted a traditional Indigenous doll by her Grandmother, who reminds her that if she’s ever scared the doll will protect her.

Besides the harsh desert conditions, Mother and Daughter are chased down by a militant armed group that guards the border illegally. They find temporary shelter in an abandoned house. A shot is fired, and their outcome is left unknown. 

The violence that takes place once Mother and Daughter reach the Arizona desert becomes the tipping point of what's to come. We experience a supernatural event, when generations of unjust oppression and murder, manifest into a single moment of revenge, and redemtion.
